Honda Problems

Last summer, I went half and half on a four wheeler with my girlfriend's parents. My girlfriend and I paid half and her parents paid half. I was told by her parents that they were not going to get the four wheeler until the weekend. I was excited to finally have a Honda that I can almost call mine. The person who we were buying the honda off of was a good friend of mine, so I thought that the Honda was in good condition. The weekend came and I asked her parents if they got the four wheeler or were going to get it but her parents said not until Sunday. They said that the person wanted to go hunting for reindeer first before he gives us his bike.

Saturday came along and I was walking from the store to my house to go home and eat when I saw her dad driving the bike to his house. I was so excited and happy that we have a bike now because last summer my girlfriend and I would ask around to borrow someone's bike for a couple of hours. We had no luck looking for a four wheeler to borrow, we even said that we would pay to rent it and pay for gas. Anyways we got the four wheeler and it was just like a rust bucket. I was happy but not happy at the same time, and the reason I was not happy because the muffler was cracked, there was only one brake and soon after that I spent two or three weeks replacing the whole back end.

I had to get a new whole back end and if it was not for a friend who let me have one of his back ends then the honda would of just sat. It would have collected more rust and never got fixed. I am thankful that I have a uncle that helped me with it. If it was not for him than I'd still be working on it today and not knowing what I was doing. Here is a picture of what it looks like when I was taking the back end off to be replaced.

After the work was finally over and the back end was finally replaced, the front left tire decides that it wants to mess up as well. I was pretty mad about that because here my uncle and I just fixed the back end of the bike and now the tire is messing up. I talked to my basketball coach about it because he knows a lot about honda's and what he thinks the problem might be. He says that I have to adjust the tie rod and he also says that I might have bent it. I hope that I did not bent it because then I would have to ask my friend for his tie rod and don't worry the parts I'm getting is from a new but broken honda.

I also need to put the brakes back on and put new oil filters in it. I still have a lot of work in front of me but I find time to work on the honda. I love to work on things because I love to solve the problem and feel accomplished when it works. The honda right now is ride able but I need to get on it this weekend. Overall, I have fun working on the bike and no matter how mad it makes me it always pays off in the end.

  1. I think that it is pretty cool that you guys were able to get a bike. I would be pretty mad if the bike that I bought had problems like that. I had to buy new things for my bike when I bought it but I did not have to do much maintenance on it. I probably would be to lazy to even try to fix it if
I had that much problems. And I think it is pretty cool that you were able to get that fixed.
